Identify And Connect With 3 Leaders In Your Industry Who Are People Of Color

It’s valuable to have insight into other people’s perspectives. For some of us, opportunities arise frequently to speak with people from a variety of backgrounds in a professional setting about matters relevant to our work. And for some of us, it takes intentional effort to create the conditions for those exchanges to happen. Take some time this week to identify 3 leaders in your industry who are people of color to connect with directly or follow on social media. Do a little homework to find out who they are and what insights you might gain by hearing their voice. You may find that the perspectives that differ most from your own are the ones that really spark personal and innovative discoveries for you. Commit to creating opportunities to regularly check in to see what’s top of mind for them and use those instances to challenge your own thoughts and maybe even how you show up in your work.
