Introducing The Start Where You Are Challenge

In the midst of the recent push for racial equality, we don't have to wait for corporate initiatives and guidance to start making changes in our day-to-day professional lives. The 'Start Where You Are' challenges are small but meaningful actions each of us can take to increase our awareness about the people we interact with on a daily basis, and expand our minds and perceptions. Amazing things can happen when we see each other as individuals and not labels.

This week, take 5 minutes to have a genuine conversation with someone on your team who's not like you. Ask how they're doing - and listen with genuine interest. Ask about a project they're working on, or their opinion on something happening at work. Start opening the door for future dialogue; connections have to start somewhere.
